This restaurant list covers Hongo area, approximately up to 10 minutes walking distance from University of Tokyo. Although the area is not known for popular restaurants, there are a number of quality restaurants along Hongo street, Kasuga street and in small alleys across these streets. Since almost all of them are not English friendly, unfortunately, we hope the list might be of any help for the first-time visitors to venture out to the streets.

In the coffee shop/restaurants on the upper part of the list, you can quickly get your order: the lower it goes, the more time it takes before you get it.

You will find the word "Teishoku" in the list below: it is a typical Japanese set lunch (rice, soup, salad/pickled vegetables, and one main dish). You can see how it looks here:
